Our radon services
Calgary Radon Pro provides radon testing and radon mitigation for homes and rental properties in Calgary and nearby towns. Testing comes first, and the test that counts is a long-term one. Mitigation follows only where a result calls for it, with a system chosen for the foundation. After an installation we take a short verification reading, and the long-term confirmation is done with an independent laboratory kit that you place and mail. This page lists each service and links to its details.

Which services are for homeowners?
- Radon testing. The starting point. A long-term test tells you whether anything else on this page is needed.
- Long-term radon testing. A detector placed for 91 days or more in the heating season, read by a laboratory.
- Real estate radon testing. Testing around a sale the way Health Canada advises: before listing, or long-term once you have moved in.
- Radon mitigation. A sealed pipe and fan that draw soil gas from under the house and vent it outside.
- Sump pit mitigation. The sump is sealed with a serviceable lid and becomes the suction point.
- Crawl space mitigation. A sealed membrane over exposed soil, with suction drawn from beneath it.
- Rough-in activation. Turning the capped pipe a builder left in a newer home into a working system.
- Fan replacement. A matched replacement when a fan fails, gets loud or loses suction.
- System inspection and repair. A check of a system you inherited or one whose readings have changed.
- Post-mitigation testing. The measurement that shows what a new system achieved.
Which services are for landlords and property professionals?
- For landlords. Testing rental houses and basement suites, with records you can keep on file.
- For home builders. Post-occupancy testing and rough-in activation across a development.
- For realtors. Plain material for clients and a clear answer on when a home should be tested.
- For home inspectors. A radon partner for the measurement an inspection does not include.
- For property managers. Portfolio testing by unit, with one report per property.
- For daycares. Testing the rooms where children spend their day.
- For condo boards. Ground-level units and common areas, reported building by building.
Does the type of home change the approach?
Yes. The method stays the same, but where people live in the building and what the foundation looks like decide how it is tested and what a system has to do.
- Basement suites. Where someone lives full time on the level closest to the soil.
- Condos and apartments. Which floors matter and who is able to act.
- Townhomes and duplexes. Shared foundations, separate results.
- Acreages and rural homes. Mixed foundations and private wells outside the city.
- Homes on well water. When radon in groundwater becomes part of the picture.
How do I know which one I need?
Start from what you already have. With no test result, you need a test. With a long-term result above 200 Bq/m³, you need an assessment for mitigation, and the assessment decides which kind of system. With an existing system that worries you, you need an inspection. If none of those fits, send a request describing the situation, or read the general FAQ first.
Everything listed here is carried out by Plinio Neto, whose C-NRPP certifications are set out on the about page, in the places listed under service areas.
