About Calgary Radon Pro
Calgary Radon Pro tests homes for radon and installs mitigation systems in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks and Chestermere. The company is run by two people: Daniel Rocha Sales, who founded it and writes this site, and Plinio Neto, the partner who does the testing and installation and holds personal C-NRPP certifications in radon measurement and radon mitigation. Our rule for the work and for the writing is the same: measured, not guessed.

Who is behind Calgary Radon Pro?
Daniel Rocha Sales, founder
Daniel Rocha Sales founded the company and is responsible for this website: what it says, how the facts on it are checked and how requests sent through it are answered. If you write to us, the first reply comes from him.
Plinio Neto, partner and certified radon professional
Plinio Neto is a partner in the company and the person who comes to your home. He places and collects the detectors, assesses foundations, designs and installs the mitigation systems and runs the follow-up tests. He also reviews the technical content of this site before it is published.
He holds two certifications from the Canadian National Radon Proficiency Program (C-NRPP), both valid until July 1, 2028:
- C-NRPP Radon Measurement Professional, certificate CRT-202965
- C-NRPP Radon Mitigation Professional, certificate CRMT-202966
These certifications belong to him as an individual, not to the company. You can confirm both in the C-NRPP "find a professional" directory by searching his name or either certificate number, and we encourage you to do the same for any radon contractor you consider.
Health Canada recommends hiring a professional certified by C-NRPP for radon worksource.
Why "measured, not guessed"?
Because nothing about radon can be judged by eye. A home's age, its neighbourhood and the result next door do not tell you its level. Health Canada recommends testing every home, wherever it is and whatever kind of building it issource. So every recommendation we make starts from a measurement, and every system we install ends with one: a follow-up test that shows what changed.
It also means saying what we do not know. We will not tell you that an area is fine or that a system will reach a particular number, and when a test shows that no action is needed we say that too.
Which standards do we follow?
- Health Canada's guideline of 200 Bq/m³ as an annual averagesource, as the reference for every result.
- Health Canada's measurement guide, which calls for tests of three to twelve months and never less than 91 dayssource.
- CAN/CGSB-149.12-2024, the national standard for radon mitigation in existing buildingssource.
- C-NRPP's requirements for certified measurement and mitigation professionals.
How do we check what we publish?
Every health statement, number, regulation and standard on this site is tied to a source: Health Canada, the World Health Organization, the Canadian standards body, or published research. Each page lists its sources at the bottom. Before a fact is used it is opened at the original source and the wording is compared; facts that have not been through that check do not appear on the public site.
- We paraphrase and link; we do not copy long passages.
- Where studies give different figures, we show each with its year.
- Prices are our installer's own, not averages gathered from other companies.
- The "Updated" date on a page changes only when its content changes.
- If you find an error, email contact@calgaryradonpro.ca and we will correct it.
What do we do with test results?
Your result is yours. With your permission we may include it in area-level statistics with everything that could identify a household removed. We never publish names or addresses. The details are in our privacy policy.
How do I reach you?
By email at contact@calgaryradonpro.ca or with the form on this page. See the contact page for what to include, our services for what we do and our service areas for where.
Frequently asked questions
Who reviews the information on this site?
Technical content is reviewed by Plinio Neto, a C-NRPP certified professional (CRMT-202966). Health facts come from Health Canada and peer-reviewed or university research, cited at the bottom of each page with dates.
How can I verify a C-NRPP certification?
C-NRPP keeps a public directory of certified professionals. Search the name or certificate number; the listing shows the certification category and whether it's current. Do this for any company you hire.
How do you handle the data from my test?
Your result belongs to you. With your permission, we include it in anonymized, area-level statistics; we never publish addresses or names. Details are in our privacy policy.
Why "measured, not guessed"?
Because radon can't be judged by a home's age, location or a neighbour's result. Every recommendation we make starts from a measurement, and every system should end with one: a follow-up test that shows the result.
